LAS CUMBRES RANCH

A PRIVATE RANCH WEDDING VENUE IN THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY

One thousand acres of oak savanna, open ranch and unbroken sky, given over to one celebration at a time.

The ranch sits just west of Los Alamos, in the Santa Barbara wine country. Close enough to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo that guests drive in for the day. Far enough that the last mile is a tree-lined driveway with nothing but fields and open hills.

EXCLUSIVE LUXURY EXPERIENCE

The drive climbs and the view unfolds. A white Spanish-style residence crowns the top of the hill, framed by century olives and coast live oaks.

Lavender and agapanthus ring the circular drive, warm with scent by afternoon. Rolling hills and oak groves stretch to the horizon, uninterrupted.

Beyond the double front doors, a sunken living room opens beneath beamed ceilings, rising two steps to the formal dining room. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the space on every side, dissolving the line between house and land. Underfoot, wide-plank Italian porcelain in a whitewashed finish gives the room a feeling both warm and bright.

Floor-to-ceiling doors and windows frame the primary suite, an indoor-outdoor sanctuary where the hills become the walls. The sun rises on one side and sets on the other. His-and-her baths and walk-in closets complete the suite.

To the east, the guest wing offers privacy while remaining close enough to feel part of the home.

Spacious patios open to the north and south, furnished and shaded. One side for morning coffee, the other for cocktails by the fire.

With eight distinct ceremony and reception venues across the property, the Hacienda becomes the private headquarters for an entire celebration.

The residence, all eight settings, four nights.

The Residence:

Four thousand square feet, open plan.

Four bedroom suites
Five full bathrooms, plus a powder room for guests
A chef's kitchen with full prep space for private chefs and caterers
An outdoor jacuzzi
Fourteen miles of private trails from the door

Exclusive use:

Thursday at 9:00am to Monday at 6:00pm.

Five settings are most often used across the wedding day, with the other three open for a rehearsal dinner and a farewell breakfast. One wedding per weekend. No other event runs on the property between arrival and departure.

SETTINGS

MODERN BARN

At the edge of a tall-grass meadow stands a red barn, its gable peak rising into blue sky, rolling hills ranged behind it. A building with the warmth of one that still works for a living. In the hour before sunset, a low gold light catches the grass and the whole field goes soft at the edges.

Inside, the ceiling climbs to the ridgeline, twenty feet at the peak. The doors roll back on both ends, fourteen feet wide, and the breeze comes in on from the meadow,  grass, flowers, the hills going to haze past the opening. Set the tables end to end, string the lights overhead, and the room carries a band with no microphone.

GUEST CAPACITY

175 seated  ·  250 standing  ·  2,400 sq. ft.

EVENT LAWN

A wide and open triangle of lawn shaded by ash and sycamore, along one edge, a thick ribbon of wildflowers. String lights overhead, farm tables dotted across the grass, a band playing the evening in while up on the hill, the wild horses crest the rise, curious about the gathering below.

GUEST CAPACITY

175 seated  ·  200 standing  ·  2,000 sq. ft.

LONE OAK

A single coast live oak stands alone at the center of the meadow, the way it has for more than a hundred years. Every oak begins as an acorn and given light, given years, becomes this: a canopy wide enough to marry beneath. What begins as a vow grows, season over season, into shade for a whole life together.

The walk to it is its own beginning. A grass path runs the length of the meadow, flanked by willows that bend toward you as you pass, and at the end of it, the oak, and the person you love.

Las Cumbres rests under a conservation easement with the land held in trust, kept whole, promised to the generations still to come. You marry beneath an oak that will outlive the day, on land that was set aside so it could.

GUEST CAPACITY

225 seated  ·  250 standing  ·  2,500 sq. ft.

VINTAGE BARN

Sunlight falls through the barn's 1890s timber, laying long warm bands across the floor. For more than a century, these walls have held the life of a ranch, harvests brought in, animals born, families gathered season after season. Every year of it has left a warmth in the wood.

Inside, the air stays cool and bright. The great doors open onto the wildflower garden, House Mountain beyond, and the white blooms catch the same light that falls between the boards.

A place this loved knows how to hold a celebration.

GUEST CAPACITY

100 seated  ·  125 standing  ·  1,250 sq. ft.

WILDFLOWER GARDEN

Flanked by House Mountain and the Vintage Barn, a lawn ringed with pear trees and jasmine sets the stage for a cloud of white daisies, cosmos, yarrow, and love-in-a-mist rising waist high. House Mountain anchors the rolling hills that encircle the valley. As the horses look on from the slopes above and the sun lowers in the sky, a ceremony, cocktails under the trees, and dinner under the stars.

GUEST CAPACITY

175 seated  ·  200 standing  ·  2,000 sq. ft.

SPRING FED POND

Two hillside springs wind down to a freshwater pond ringed with cottonwoods where a paddle boat for two drifts on its line. Above it, a green lawn overlooks the water and the valley beyond, edged in wild grass and flowers, with a single cottonwood at its center holding the shade.

The hillside curves around it all, covered in native roses, the land itself drawn close, like cupped hands. Say your vows on the lawn, then let the evening come: string lights, candlelight, and music carrying over the water.

The whole hillside turned toward you and the vows you came to make.

GUEST CAPACITY

300 seated  ·  350 standing  ·  3,500 sq. ft.

Under The Oaks

Old oaks stand across a wide pasture, their shade falling over a seasonal creek as hawks turn slow circles overhead. The valley opens in every direction, tall grass, the dry creek curving through and the whole place seems to breathe.

A single long table follows the bend of the creek, seating family and friends end to end. There is only the sound of the grass, the birds, and your guests, laughing.

A table long enough for every person who made you who you are.

GUEST CAPACITY

400 seated  ·  450 standing  ·  4,500 sq. ft.

Stone Bridge

Laid by hand, stone by stone, the bridge carries two paths together. Giant oaks draw their shade across a seasonal creek, and the water finds its own way beneath.

To the north, the creek and valley open toward golden hills stitched with oak and vineyard. To the south, a stand of old oaks holds its ground along the water.

Exchange your vows here or gather for cocktails as the light turns; either way, you cross from two separate lives into one shared road.

GUEST CAPACITY

175 seated  ·  225 standing  ·  2,250 sq. ft.

EXCULSIVE WEDDING VENUE

ELEGANT BARN AND OUTDOOR CELEBRATIONS

Under an endless open sky in Santa Barbara County, a ceremony unfolds on sprawling green grass, surrounded by rolling hills where wild mustangs graze in the distance. After the vows, guests wander to the wildflower garden, where blooms and signature cocktails await. A long table set with porcelain dinnerware, crystal glassware, hurricane candelabras and wildflower bouquets shimmers in the soft light.

Las Cumbres Ranch is protected in perpetuity by a conservation easement with the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County, so the hills behind the ceremony, the oaks above it and the valley beyond the barns cannot be subdivided or built over. Not in five years, and not in fifty. It is a setting that honors the beauty of love and the lasting nature of commitment.

As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow across the hills, string lights flicker to life, and guests dance beneath a sea of stars.
